Verne Wortman, Director of Music Verne Wortman comes to us from Bandera, TX, where he heads up a missionary program called English in Action International. Verne teaches prospective missionaries how to teach English as a foreign language and leads teams both to China and from China that are learning and teaching English. He recently returned from China during the Olympic Games. Verne has degrees in Music Education, Sacred Music, and Christian Education as well as graduate work in ESL. He has been minister of music in several churches in the last 40 years and has participated in or led Bell Choirs, the USAF Band, and many civic theater and music organizations. He and his wife, Marcia, have lived most of their lives together around music. Both are soloists. Verne loves big band music and all forms of choral music. |
